Mmmmphhh... Ugghhhh....
Boy do I need motivation today. I feel like I have been hit by a truck, and backed over a couple of times for good measure. I am now of an age (whimper!) that if I do too much, it bites me on the butt.
Before I got pregnant, I could do errands for hours. I was the energizer bunny. When I started getting into running, Sunday was my long run day. Hubby loved it, because I would be sacked out on the couch for the rest of the day and I wouldn't bug him to go anywhere. Then I got pregnant and I couldn't last for more than two hours for anything. Shopping, cooking, cleaning, knitting, nothing. I was a pooped preggy girl. Again, hubby LOVED it.
The good thing that came out of all this was learning what was important in my day and how to surrender to the fact that I just couldn't do it all, and that was okay.
Now I am like a horse chomping at the bit. I want my old stamina back. Yah huh. Well, Saturday was a crazy day. Knitting in the morning, interview at noon (more on that later), health and fitness show in the afternoon, home again to finish my cupcakes for my potluck that evening, then the potluck. By nine thirty, I was ready for bed, stamina nowhere to be found.
Then on Sunday I had my morning run and pushed myself a bit harder than normal. Not smart. I paid for it yesterday. I am still paying for it today. I am so achy that I had to beg off yoga today. Sigh! On days like these I think it is smarter to coddle yourself (just one day) and get back on the horse the next day. Tomorrow is another day and I'll see what class I might be able to fit in.
Also, the cold weather will be retreating by the end of the week, (just as I am starting to knit alpaca running socks!), and I will be able to take little one out for some more strolls. This weekend is going to be fun. I have a Yoga for Runner's workshop to attend on Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully I will learn some great poses to build strength as well as flexibility.
Did you know that today is supposed to be an internationally depressing day? Hmmm......
