It has been a week since I started food blogging and boy what a difference it has made. The first few days I was REALLY hungry. It was also kind of irritating that my dear Aunt Flo came to visit (sorry if that is too much info, but it does affect your energy and your cravings). Here are the good and not so good things that I learned this week.
Good:
1. I do get my daily recommended servings of fruits and veggies per day.
2. It is so helpful to take photos of what you eat. I wanted to indulge and snack so many times, but I stopped because I didn't want to have to post it.
3. I learned to eat when my little man eats. I have him on a 8, 12, 4,8 feeding and that's when I eat too. If I need a snack I try to drink a milky tea instead or have fruit.
4. Pureed veggie soups are a WONDERFUL way of getting full and having your veggies too!
Not so good:
1. I eat more fruits than veggies, which might seem like splitting hairs, but I would like to change that balance.
2. When I am tired I get hungry. Hoo boy. This will be a hard one to overcome because having an infant means you're tired.
3. I rely too much on processed meat. I love having wraps, so I'm not changing that, but I should change up the fillings more often.
4. I need to figure out a way to make sure I drink more water. Tea is great, decaf tea is better, but it's still not water.
I can also proudly report that I did take it easy since Sunday. No major stretching sessions, no yoga, no walks. I rested. This is HUGE for me. So I will see how tonight's practice run goes. Again, I, Katrein, promise to run at my own pace, listen to my body, and never run with two different socks again.
